Albert Salvant was born in 1859 in Jesuit Bend, Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, the son of Constantine Salvant and Rose Smith Salvant.
He married Eliza Jones and together they built a large, close-knit family, raising at least three sons and six daughters. Like so many in the Salvant line, Albert remained rooted in Plaquemines Parish his entire life. He was recorded living there in the 1900 census and later in Police Jury Ward 7 in the 1910 census.
A quiet but steady presence in the community, Albert carried forward the family’s deep ties to the land and its people. He passed away in 1944 at the age of 85, leaving behind a legacy of resilience that continues to inspire the Salvant family today.
